These Matrushka dolls are sure to bring on another bout with Beatlemania.

A phrenologist's dream.

This artist decided to roll back to their early wardrobe. But at least they gave it a good try, even going so far as to extrapolate the existence of a mascot.
You can actually buy these, along with other figures from entertainment and politics.

must be a pretty good system
What is the point of this picture (seen on shoppingcartsplus.com)?

Perhaps their system is so powerful that you can even sell a wannabe Medusa with it?

my cat woke me up around 7-8 am. (When I close the kitty escape window and go to bed, he's pretty good about letting me sleep until dawn.) Took my trilep-turtle and dextrostat ... had some turkey sandwiches on toast. It is now 11:45 and I almost feel like getting dressed and going over to the Sunnyvale job center.
Catching up: Somehow I managed to wake up on Sunday morning and get to the meeting. Of course I was too hungry and bleary-eyed to really interact with people after the meeting, but it was rather positive that I was able to keep up with a somewhat involved discussion. Our visiting speaker talked about inherited imperfection/sin, how we need to acknowledge its tendency to "boss us around" like slaves. (So ADDers aren't alone in having impulse control problems ;-) Apparently the term "ransom" was legalese meaning "payment for damages," in effect a release clause, a way to buy us out of slavery. Interesting stuff.
For breakfast/lunch I went to Taco Bell and consumed about a half-gallon of Pepsi. Yes, I had some proteinaceous food on the side, but ultimately I didn't go to sleep that night since I was preparing to reinstall Windows :-( The next day I did some laundry even though my skin was twitching for lack of sleep. Most of Tuesday was spent sleeping. I was deliberate enough to take my meds and get in bed by 2 am. I have done pretty well staying consistent with my medication lately, and starting to do the same with trazodone.
If you want to accomplish your dreams .... take care of your brain!

animation project outline
Working title: SGT. ZENO
Synopsis: A police officer (Zeno) pursues an armed criminal through the night city. Tires squeal and the criminal hits a building in the crowded square. Bystanders scatter in slow motion. He escapes on foot, and Zeno is forced to open fire.
-- Or is he? As the incident progresses, time continues to slow, like a graph approaching infinity ... shadows crawl ... pupils linger on each detail ... faces are sculpted by impressions too slight to be felt themselves ... heartbeats mark the passing seconds. As the gun is raised and the tendons contract, as we hear the trigger begin to slide, Zeno's expression changes to one of recognition, and we are left with the question: Was he able to avoid firing the shot?
Technical notes: This is a LOT of work if you think about it. The events have to be storyboarded down to the split second, and the slowing pace fine-tuned to enhance the action, rather than obscure it. The face and body language of all participants, including crowd reaction, has to be modeled convincingly. The sound has to work perfectly at speeds below the typical slo-motion sequence. The pistol mechanics have to be understood, which means digging through somebody's film archives. And the whole point of the exercise is to have the faces tell a detailed story of sub-thoughts and sub-emotions congealing into behaviors.
Don't even ask about the film noir lighting -- that's an entire study in itself.
Start date: Spring 2009 (tentative).

self-care checkin
Phew. I've been struggling with sleep again (as always). But at least now I have enough music files to keep me in continuous hi-fi for the next month. Probably a good place to stop.
Yesterday (F) I woke up at 3:30 pm and was awake until about 10 this morning. I then took a nap for about 3 hours and have been plodding through a computer backup in preparation for a Windows reinstall. (Yes, I'm preparing for it this time. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!)
It's always a good sign when I feel well enough to wash the dishes. Visiting with my friends yesterday was fun, too. I feel like writing code. I feel like creating something. I have an animation idea but it looks like a colossal timesink; I'll just document the concept for now so it don't get forgot.
This up-and-down bidness seems to coincide with the dosage of trileptal. I'm going to stay at 150mg x 2 (the initial dose) to test the theory. Anyway, my functioning can't get any worse ... need to inform the docs. GP was concerned about my blood pressure so I have to get in touch with him ASAP.
